Statement of Faith

+ The Word Of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

(Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 5:18, 2 Peter 1:20, Psalm 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16)

+ The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons, that these are equal in every Divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of Creation, Providence, and Redemption. We believe the Genesis account of creation as historical and factual and that man was directly created by God. (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

+ God The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 4:24, Habakkuk 1:13, Luke 1:37, Philippians 4:19, Colossians 2:13-14)

+ Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, in God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teaching. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death for the sins of all people, bodily resurrection for empowering of the new life of all who believe, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to earth. (Luke 1:34-35, Acts 10:37-38, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9, Hebrews 7:25, Acts 1:11)

+ Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He baptizes every believer into the body of Christ at salvation. We believe that He fills those who completely surrender to Him. (John 16:7-8, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 5:18)

+ Salvation

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Saviour are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and as such have perfect acceptance before God in Christ. We believe that they become a new creation in Jesus Christ, but that the old nature is not eradicated. (John 3:18, Titus 3:5, Romans 3:9-10, 2 Corinthians 5:17)

+ The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the member of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost world. We believe that the church should be supported by tithes, freewill offerings and by donations of goods and services. (Luke 11:42, 1 Corinthians 16:2, 1 Corinthians 12:12, Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 12:23, Acts 13:1, Matthew 23:19-20)

+ Angelic Beings

We believe in angels as being messengers of God and ministering to the saints, helping God accomplish His purposes. We also believe in the personality of Satan and his associates, the demons who are fallen angels whose activities are to thwart God’s plan, for whom salvation is unavailable and the Lake of Fire in especially prepared. (Matthew 4:1-11, Matthew 25:41, Hebrews 1:14, Zechariah 3:1, Revelation 20:10)

+ Christian Conduct

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the wellbeing of his fellowmen; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:31, 1 Peter 4:10, Romans 14:19, Ephesians 4:13, 1 Peter 2:12)

+ The Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church to be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Baptism - We believe that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in Jesus Christ in water in the name of the Triune God.

The Lord's Supper - We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ. (Romans 6:1-4, Matthew 26:26-28, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

+ Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, and final judgement, the eternal happiness of the righteous in Heaven and the endless suffering of the wicked in Hell. (Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 20:6, Acts 1:10-11, 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, Matthew 13:49-50, Revelation 21:3-4)

+ Spiritual Gifts

We believe that God has given to believer’s spiritual gifts according to Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4, which are to be used to edify the entire body of Christ. (Romans 12:4-8, 1 Peter 4:10-11, Ephesians 4:11-12)

+ Marriage

REWe believe marriage has been instituted by God and is His gift to society whereby a naturally born man and a naturally born woman are joined together in lifelong commitment to faithful companionship. (Genesis 2:20-24, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31-32)
